Betty Dianne Beeler, age 72, of Hancock, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Julia Manor, in Hagerstown, Md.
Born in Hancock, on September 28, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Bertram Oliver and Clamonce Murray Wilkerson; and the widow of James Edward Beeler, who died May 22, 2012.
She was a 1957 graduate of Sherwood High School, in Sandy Spring, Md.
She was retired, as a communications supervisor, from C & P Telephone. She had previously been employed with H.L. Green; and as a staff supervisor for 25 years, with the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.
She was a member of Ashton United Methodist Church, in Sandy Spring, Md.; and she attended the Hancock United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Hancock Lioness Club.
She is survived by one sister, Darlene C. Whisner, of Orlando, Fl.; nephews, Scott Leishear, Willard Whisner, Jr., and Wesley Whisner, of Fl.; nieces, Michele Gentile, and Megan Whisner, both of Fl.
She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Craig McReaken; and one sister, Dona Leishear.
A service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, in Hancock. Rev. Barbara Suffecool will officiate. Burial will be in Union Memorial Cemetery, in McConnellsburg, Pa.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
The family requests that memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society; or to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Md. 21740
