Betty Baum

Betty Jean Baum, age 88, died on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at her home in Warfordsburg, Pa.

Born October 7, 1928, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late John George and Irene (Josenhans) Milke, and the wife of Charles Baum, whom she married in 1947, in Ellicott City, Md.

She was a 1946 graduate of Kenwood High School, in Baltimore County, Md., and had been employed  as the school secretary for the Rosedale Elementary and the Deep Creek  Elementary schools.

She was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Essex, Md.

In addition her husband Charles, she is survived by one daughter, Jeanne Ward and her husband, Wayne, of Warfordsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Hammertacker; and a half-sister, Grace Henning.

In keeping with her wishes, she was cremated. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
