Anne Denise “Neecie” Bohrer, age 54, formerly of Hancock and a resident of Hagerstown, died Monday, January 28, 2013, at Julia Manor Health Care Center, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born November 14, 1958, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of Mary Ellen Hixon Bohrer, of Hagerstown, and the late Mervin E. “Jim” Bohrer, Sr., who died December 4, 1994.

She was valedictorian of her graduating class of 1976 at Hancock High School. She received an AA degree, Summa Cum Laude, at Hagerstown Business College.

She was retired, after working 32 years as a bookkeeper, for Fulton Petroleum; Sharrett, Inc; Fil-Tec, Inc.; and MillerStone Law Offices.

She was a member of the Hancock United Methodist Church, and an antique tea cup collector.

She always took pleasure in God’s gifts.

Besides her mother; she is survived by three sisters, Nancy E. Zirkle, of Needmore, Pa., Mary E. Farris, of Hagerstown, and Kay A. Nave, of Elizabethton, Tn.; one brother, Mervin E. “Jimmy” Bohrer, Jr., of Norfolk, Va.; ten nieces and nephews; and thirteen great-nieces and nephews.

A service will be held on Friday, February 1, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hancock United Methodist Church. Rev. Michael Bynum and Rev. Wayne Hixon will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, Md.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Thursday, January 31, from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m., and at the Church on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742
