Ada Laverne Hill Golden, age 90, loving wife, mother, and grandmaw, died on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at the Meritus Medical Center, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born September 27, 1925, in Thompson Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Job and Bertha Shaw Hill.

She was a lifelong dairy farm wife in Fulton County, Pa.  She and her late husband, Quentin R. Golden, conducted a courtship by mail while he was serving in Europe during WWII.  They were married December 29, 1945, following his return from service.

She was a member of the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed her family, reading, and visits with friends and family.

She is survived by four children, Robert Golden and wife, Barbara, Edith M. Carnahan and husband, Larry, of Warfordsburg, Pa., Dolly Johnson and husband, Wayne, of Hancock, Md., and Dora Ridgeway and husband, Richard, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Kelly Peck and husband, Randy, David Golden and wife, Cami, Mike Golden and wife, Stacey, Kenny Carnahan and wife, Christine, Charles (Rick) Golden, Homer (Buddy) Johnson, Jr., and Beth Keefer and husband, Gary; twelve great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Goldie Palmer Covalt, Gladys Orndorf, and Lena Adams; and brothers, Thurman Hill and Marshall Hill.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 7, at the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Faith Center.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Friday, January 8, at the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church, 12941 Buck Valley Road, Warfordsburg, Pa., with Rev. Edward Blank and Rev. Edward James officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining Church cemetery.
