Achsa Jane Shoemaker, age 91, of Hancock, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at Mertius Medical Center, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born May 3, 1921, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bertha Keefer Younker, and the widow of Floyd J. Shoemaker, who died January 6, 2007.

She was a homemaker, and she attended the Hancock Church of God. She was a member of the Little Cove United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Wilma Jean Cook and husband, Darl, of Hancock; one sister, Fayetta Egolf, of Hancock; a grandson, Terry Cook and wife, Becky; and three great-grandchildren, Ashton, Terra and Aaron Cook.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Reams, and Carrie Moats.

A service will be held on Thursday, April 25, at 10:30 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock. Pastor Terry Goodwin and Rev. Harry Strite will officiate. Burial will be in the Little Cove United Methodist Cemetery, in Mercersburg, Pa.

The family will receive friends, at the Funeral Home, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
