Aaron John Hoopengardner, age 37, of Hancock, died Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the University of Maryland Medical Center, in Baltimore, Md.

Born April 10, 1975, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of Alton B. Hoopengardner, of Warfordsburg, Pa., and the late Alleene M. Frost Hoopengardner.

He was a 1993 graduate of Southern Fulton High School, in Warfordsburg, Pa., and in 1998 he graduated from Frostburg State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.

He was a self-employed Computer Consultant, and operator of Hilltop Farms.

He was a member of the local, county, and state Grange, where he was an officer and a member of the executive committee.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, and the Beaver Creek Country Club.

He worshipped at the Buck Valley Christian Church and sang in the Church choir.

Besides his father, he is survived by two sisters, Angela Fentress and husband, Craig, of Hancock, and Anne Motz and husband, John, of Vienna, Va.; one brother, Adam S. Hoopengardner and wife, Lisa, of Hagerstown, Md.; nieces and nephews, Tristan and Noah Motz, Emma Fentress, Mae and Gavin Hoopengardner.

He was preceded in death by nephews, Jonah and Carter Motz.

A service will be held on Wednesday, February 6, at 11:00 a.m., at the Buck Valley Christian Church, 2281 Harmonia Road, Warfordsburg, Pa. Rev. Scott Gibbs will officiate. Burial will be in the Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Tuesday, from 1 to 8 p.m., and on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
